南アフリカ、ヨハネスブルグ近郊 ある丘の上にある white squatter camps (白人不法占拠キャンプ)
子供達は大人になるまでひとりで丘の下に降りることを許されていない
そんな丘の上に住む天使たちの、青年期の微妙な感情の揺れ動きを描いた真夏のクリスマス作品
White squatter camp located on the outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa.
This camp is in a unique location. It sits on its own at the top of a hill in the outskirts of the city, and, unusually, is home to both white and black residents. Due to safety risks on the road leading down the hill, the children here are not allowed leave on their own until adulthood. As a result, the children of the community grow up with pure hearts, surrounded by the great nature of Africa. They are almost entirely unaware of the urban landscape at the bottom of the hill, only several kilometers away. When I first visited, I was struck by the sheer innocence of the children living there. It almost felt like a spot where angels go to rest their wings. Drawn to this environment, I decided to spend a few months with them at the camp.
